Sephora Beauty Buys - VIB Sale Haul

Hi, friends! As you may know, the Sephora VIB Appreciation Sale ended recently, so…what did I buy? If you read my Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations, you already know I had A LOT of products on my wish list. I wish I could have bought every single thing on that list, but ya girl’s on a budget. Kind of. Not like I give myself a makeup budget every month or anything like that. I just try not to get too crazy with spending money on makeup. Which is difficult because I literally want EVERYTHING.

So, out of all of the things that were on my wish list, which ones actually made the cut to come home with me? With all the amazing products at Sephora, it really is difficult to narrow it down, especially when they’re on sale! I managed to limit myself to just a handful of items (still ended up spending a shit ton though) and so far, I am loving EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.

If you’re struggling to narrow down your choices at Sephora and need a little shopping guide, I 100% recommend every item on this list. And also if you need to choose a gift for that makeup/beauty-lover in your life and have no clue where to even begin, this list would be a great starting point. I would consider all of these items no-fail products!

Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! AND SEPHORA IS A PARTICIPATING STORE YAY! Use Ebates every time you order something online so you can get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back) I’ve made over $400 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! Drunk Elephant – C-Firma Day Serum | $80

I honestly don’t know how to live without this serum. I HAVE TO put this on every morning before I do my makeup and if I don’t, my skin just doesn’t feel right! For about two months before this purchase, I went without the C-Firma Serum because I ran out and I put off replacing it – it’s so damn expensive. But, those two months were two of my worst skin months in a very long time. I’ve already seen a noticeable difference in my skin since I’ve started using it again. My skin feels hydrated, it looks brighter, and it feels so much smoother. All around, my skin feels so much healthier.

Drunk Elephant – TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum | $90/$134

In addition to the C-Firma Day Serum, I use the TLC Night Serum every single day. This is actually the only product currently in my night-time routine, which may not be the best because I’m not using a moisturizer, but it’s working for me right now. And yes, I did buy the big size because I know I’m not going to stop using this product any time soon and it’s a better value. I wish there was a big size of the C-Firma Serum!

I’m no skincare expert, especially when it comes to the actual science that goes into it, but my understanding is that this serum kind of acts like a leave-on exfoliator. It gets rid of the dead skin cells and debris more thoroughly than a cleanser. And because it’s an acid, it can really sting! Especially if it’s the first time you’re ever using AHA/BHA acids. But, that just makes me feel like it’s working – like it’s really killing all the bad stuff on my skin.  I know that’s probably not how it works, but that’s what it feels like LOL.

Marc Jacobs Beauty – Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter | $44

I finally bit the bullet and bought this. I’ve been really into liquid highlighters recently for the purpose of mixing them into my foundation, and this one is gorgeous. It’s the perfect shade that really won’t change the color of your foundation, unless you’re using a really fair shade. It just gives your foundation a really beautiful, yet subtle, golden sheen.

Marc Jacobs Beauty – Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Earth)quake 41 | $25

After seeing so many beauty YouTubers using this pencil on their waterline, I figured it must be pretty good. I got a dark brown shade – yes, (Earth)quake apparently means dark brown. Stupid shade names aside, I’ve been looking for a dark brown pencil to tight-line with for a while now and it’s surprisingly hard to find a good one! I thought this would be a safe bet for a solid pencil liner and it definitely is. It’s really creamy and the color payoff is great. I don’t experience any problems with it smudging or losing its color in my waterline either. It stays put all day!

Tatcha – The Silk Canvas Protective Primer | $52

I don’t normally like smoothing/pore-filling primers because I feel like they make my skin too slippery, but THIS ONE – I will use this one every single day for the rest of my life I think. Okay, you all know that’s an exaggeration. But really, I haven’t found a smoothing primer that I like more than I like this one. In fact, I’ve already mentioned it a handful of times in other posts! As you apply it, you can literally see your skin becoming smoother. It totally lives up to its name of The Silk Canvas!

Dior – Backstage Face & Body Foundation | $40

After hearing so many people rave about this foundation after it was released, I just HAD to try it out and I’m so glad I did! It’s one of the two foundations currently in my daily rotation (the other one being the NARS Natural Radiant Foundation). It gives the skin such a smooth finish and it stays like that all day! I was actually very shocked at how well it lasted throughout the day. It’s a medium coverage foundation which makes it very suitable for everyday use and it almost feels like you aren’t even wearing anything because it’s so lightweight. You really can’t go wrong with this foundation.

Laura Mercier – Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow | $38

As soon as I saw that Laura Mercier released a Glow version of their popular Translucent Loose Setting Powder, I had absolutely no hesitation in buying it. And it is amazing. If you want an overall glow to your face, this is totally the easy way to achieve it. It’s much more ‘glowy’ than any other radiant/illuminating setting powder that I’ve tried so far – the glow could probably be classified as the same level of a subtle highlighter. I’m totally in love with it.

Lancome – Tient Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation | $47

I actually bought this one for my mom and it is the foundation that she always goes back to. She’s been using it for years! I actually used to use this one for a while and I loved the finish and coverage it has, but I could never find the right shade. None of the shades available really match me well. But, the fact that both my mom and I like this foundation proves how great of a formula it is! For 20-something year-old skin and for middle-aged skin, it works!

And that’s it for this little shopping guide/my Sephora VIB sale haul! Have you tried any of these items? What did you buy at the Sephora VIB sale? Do you think there will be another sale in November? They usually have their sale in November, but did this one replace it? Let me know all of your thoughts down in the comments!

As the holidays are coming up, I’m planning on doing a much larger shopping guide with products at different price points, so keep an eye out for that!
