Hi, friends! It’s hard to believe another month has gone by and I’m doing another Monthly Favorites list. I swear I just did one! Time really does goes by quicker as you get older LOL (my birthday was in October so I’m now a year older!). I was in Japan for the first half of the month, so I didn’t try a ton of new products in October, but luckily, the few things I did try were all so good.
Let’s jump right into it!

Laneige – BB Cushion Pore Blur | $38
c/o Laneige via Octoly
This is actually the very first cushion foundation I’ve ever tried! Cushion foundations never really appealed to me because I had this idea in my mind that they weren’t full coverage enough for me and is more of a ‘natural makeup’ product (you know ya girl is full glam all the time), but I’m so glad I tried this one.
First of all, it smells amazing – it has like a fresh skincare scent, if that makes sense… I don’t find the scent overwhelming, but if you’re sensitive to scented products, you may not like it.
The coverage is surprisingly good! It’s a medium-coverage foundation, but can be built up to full-coverage without any caking. The finish is definitely natural – not dewy or matte, but I would recommend setting it with a powder to extend its wear. And it makes my skin look SO GOOD. It definitely lives up to the ‘Pore Blur’ part of its name.
Even though it comes with a little sponge (pad?) applicator, I prefer to apply it with a dense kabuki brush. I just dip the brush right into the cushion and I LOVE how mess-free this makes my foundation routine. I normally dispense liquid onto the back of my hand, so the cushion eliminates that step!
Laneige is actually a K-Beauty brand! So, if you’re looking for great K-beauty makeup and skincare brand, Laneige is known to be great quality! This is my first Laneige product, but I’ll definitely be trying more in the future!
Lancome – Dual Finish Multi-tasking Illuminating Highlighter in Dazzling Bronze | $40
c/o Lancome via Octoly
If you read my post on different ways to use highlighter, you know that I love to use a bronze highlighter as a bronzer topper for an all-over radiance. The Dual Finish Highlighter in Dazzling Bronze by Lancome is my new favorite highlighter for this technique. I apply this wherever I applied bronzer, but with a heavier hand on my forehead/temples than on my cheeks. It can be really easy to emphasize texture on your cheeks with a highlighter in the wrong spot, so I like to just lightly sweep over the bronzer on my cheeks with whatever product is left on the brush after applying it to my forehead.
Also, the formula of this highlighter is amazing. If this shade will work for you as a highlighter, it would be stunning! It’s a beautiful golden bronze and it will totally glow you up!
Pixi Beauty – MatteLast Liquid Lip | $14
c/o Pixi Beauty
GUYS. If you haven’t tried this lipstick from Pixi Beauty yet, you need to right now! It’s definitely my favorite matte liquid lipstick right now because of how comfortable it is to wear. It applies really smoothly, has a very creamy consistency, and dries down to a comfortable finish that doesn’t dry out your lips.
Bonus points for the precise applicator because we all know the stress fest that can occur when you apply lipstick and mess up LOL. The pointed tip makes it really easy to stay in the lines!
There are so many amazing shades in this collection that it’s so hard to choose just one shade as my favorite, but I’m definitely most drawn to the shade Evening Rose!

Maybelline – NikkieTutorials Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter 250 | $9.99
I’ve been a fan of the Master Chrome Highlighter since it was first released last year and I still think it’s one of the best highlighters you can get at a drugstore. So, when I saw that the glow goddess NikkieTutorials collaborated with Maybelline on a shade, I instantly added it to my cart.
This shade is the same creamy formula that popularized the highlighter last year and it’s totally just as blinding. I would describe the shade as a very light champagne and is definitely suited towards lighter skin tones and I can see that Nikkie designed this as something she would probably wear.
L’Oreal – Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara | $7.99
I’ve been a die-hard user of the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara since it was first released, but I felt like I just needed to switch things up! Mascara is definitely one of the more boring products in makeup and I was getting bored LOL. I decided to try the Voluminous Mascara, which is a classic and loved by many, but in the shade Carbon Black.
I love it. I love how black it is because I don’t wear false lashes every day, so the blacker the mascara, the easier it is to get a dramatic lash without false lashes. Also, I find that this mascara allows me to get a more defined, yet just as voluminous, lash than I can with the Lash Paradise mascara. And I think that comes down to the shape of the brush. I like that the brush on this mascara has a tapered tip, which makes it really easy to get those hard to reach outer-corner lashes as well as the lower lash line. I always found the brush of the Lash Paradise mascara to be a bit clumsy and hard to work with, especially on the lower lashes.
Eve Lom – Radiance Face Mist | $45
I actually just got this mist at the end of October, but it’s already something I love. It’s like skincare, a priming spray, and a setting spray all in one!
This mist can be used as the last step of your skincare routine, before makeup, after makeup, or on its own! It’s amazing for those moments when you feel like your makeup needs to be freshened up and especially if you have dry skin, this mist will definitely put some moisture back into your skin.
I like to use this mist after I use my usual setting spray (extra AF, I know) because it adds a nice radiance to my makeup, which I don’t usually get with my usual setting spray. And I don’t use it in lieu of my usual setting spray because this mist is not really meant to extend the wear of your makeup.
I even love to use this mist on days when I don’t wear makeup, but want to keep my skin fresh, hydrated, and protected from the impurities of the environment. It really does act as somewhat of a shield!
Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! You'll be happy you did when you get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back.) Sephora, Ulta, and many more makeup stores participate in Ebates. I’ve made over $500 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! I wrote a review on Ebates when I first started using it here.
