Hi, friends! Another month has gone by, which means another Monthly Favorites post!
I tried A LOT of new makeup in November – thanks to the Sephora VIB Sale! I have to admit, I went a little crazy during the sale. Ulta had a sale, too. So, you know ya girl ordered makeup from there as well!
I haven’t been able to try absolutely everything that I ordered so far, but the good news is that I don’t feel the need to return anything yet! And a few of them already made it into this month’s favorites list.
So, without further ado, let’s get started!

MAC – Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh, Darling | $35
As soon as I saw this highlighter, I knew I had to have it! I mean, just look at it! Absolutely gorgeous! The all metallic casing and the imprint that’s pressed into the powder – I just can’t get enough of it!
I was honestly a little let down when I first tried it as it didn’t blow my mind instantly, but I did have really high hopes.
After using it a few times and getting past that initial top layer, it became everything I hoped it would be. It’s stunning! It leaves a metallic wet-looking finish and is a perfect light gold shade that’ll work great on light to medium skin tones.
Normally, baked powders have a dry layer on the top that you have to work past to get to the good stuff, but this highlighter is not baked, so I’m a little confused about that.
But, nonetheless, it works now. It’s stunning. I can’t get enough of it.
Laura Mercier – Blush Colour Infusion in Rosé | $30
c/o Laura Mercier via Octoly
Compared to the rest of my makeup collection, blush is actually the one product that I don’t have many of. I’m always drawn to a peachy pink blush and once I find one I like, I keep using the same one over and over!
However, I’ve recently been on the hunt for a blush shade that is a little deeper than my usual peachy pink. And since we’re in the middle of fall, I wanted to get my fall vibes on.
I found the perfect shade! It’s more of a mauvey pink (more pink than mauve) and it’s just the right amount of deep for a light skin tone.
It blends out effortlessly and it’s easy to sheer out or build up color to suit your preference. It lasts all day, too!
ColourPop – No Filter Foundation Stix | $10
I’m not going to say much about this foundation because I’m planning on doing a full review on it, but IT’S GOOD.
If you’re looking for an affordable stick foundation that will last all day, you should definitely give this one a try.
Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 | $80
I’ve been eyeing the Hourglass Ambient palettes for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger and bought one during the Sephora VIB sale. $80 for a face palette is a lot! But, 20% off made it a whole lot better. $64 is still a lot, though…
Anyway, I LOVE THIS. I’ve been using every single shade in the palette during my makeup routine. The palette has 2 face/finishing powders, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer, and 2 blushes. And yes, I use all 6. I know, I’m extra LOL.
Because the highlighter in the palette isn’t nearly as blinding as I like my highlighter to be (Hourglass really isn’t known for crazy highlighters), I run my brush across the entire top row and pat it all over my face. Can you say ALL OVER GLOW?!
I use the bronzer on its own if I want a natural radiant bronze. And if I want a deeper bronze, I’ll use another bronzer, then top it with the Ambient Bronzer in the palette for a little glow. I’m all about a glowy bronze these days.
And for the blush, neither shade is really up my alley, so I mix them LOL. It becomes the perfect shade this way!
This palette is limited edition and unfortunately sold out on Sephora. :(
Essence – Pure Nude Highlighter and Sunlighter | $4.49/$4.99
I put these products right after the Hourglass Ambient palette because I believe I accidentally found a dupe!
The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter is not a highlighter by my definition of highlighter. IF you are a natural highlight person, then maybe it is. But, I like my highlighter to be beaming.
However, it is a great all-over finishing powder to achieve a glow-from-within look and I use it in the exact same way I use the finishing powders in the Hourglass Ambient palette.
And the Essence Pure Nude Sunlighter performs very similarly to the bronzer in the Hourglass Ambient palette when I use it the same way. It’s not an exact shade dupe for the one in the palette as it’s a little lighter, but it probably is a dupe for one of the other Ambient Bronzer shades.
As an actual highlighter though, these are way too natural for me.
However, I realize that not everyone likes their highlight to look obvious, so if you’re looking for a natural highlighter that is more of a sheen rather than reflective and/or glittery, these are definitely two great options.
Marc Jacobs – O!Mega Glaze All-Over Foil Illuminator in Gilty | $49
This is another highlighter that I knew I had to have as soon as I saw it! But to be honest, I’m a sucker for all things Marc Jacobs Beauty.
And this one instantly blew my mind. IT’S STUNNING!!!
It’s a beautiful reflective golden peach shade that just screams sun-kissed! If you want glow, you’re gonna get your glow with this highlighter.
Can we talk about the packaging?! First of all, it’s massive. One of these will probably last a lifetime. And second, that metallic gold cover! It’s so pretty! Everything about it is just so luxe.
As I am on the fair side, this highlighter is almost too dark for me. It’s definitely not my usual shade of gold highlighter and I have to be careful not to apply too much otherwise will definitely be too dark for me. But, it’s so pretty that I can’t help but love it.
When it’s sitting in my drawer, it’s like there a light shining down on it and it’s screaming, “use me, use me!” I can’t help but listen. It just draws me in.
Medium to dark skin tones – you MUST try this.
Huda Beauty – The Overachiever High Coverage Concealer | $30
When I first saw the release of this concealer, I will admit that I really had no desire to try it. I mean, can anything really beat Tarte Shape Tape when it comes to full ass coverage?
That was until I saw Casey Holmes try it out and it looked CRAZY full coverage and she was even shocked how much it didn’t sheer out when blending it out.
So, I bought it and I was definitely not disappointed! This concealer is thick and REALLY full coverage. Totally not for the faint of heart, but I have really dark under-eye circles, so this concealer is magic on me.
I will say that I’m not a fan of the metal tip. It’s a zamac tip – zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloy. While it is very cooling and it soothes the under-eye area during application, it’s so damn messy!
Concealer gets all over the tip when spreading it out and the clean-freak in me MUST clean it after every application. Talk about all that wasted product!
So, after the first try with the zamac tip, I decided to just squeeze the concealer out onto a small flat brush and apply it that way. I’m really not a fan of squeeze tubes for concealer either…
But, despite the packaging, I LOVE the formula of this concealer. It’s thick, full coverage, and gets rid of dark circles like magic!
It oxidizes just a smidge, too. So, keep that in mind when purchasing. I got the shade Marshmallow (fair with beige and peach undertones) and I could use a lighter shade. And there is only one shade lighter than that…
Looking at the shade range, I give Huda Beauty a round of applause for providing shades for all skin tones. However, I think pale girls are under-represented. I wouldn’t even consider myself pale and the second to the lightest shade is too dark for me.
Boscia – MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil | $32
After trying a few different types of makeup remover recently, I decided it was time to go back to an oil cleanser. The other types of cleansers just weren’t doing the job for me!
I was using the Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil for a while and I still love it, but I just wanted to try something new!
I’ve heard of the Boscia Cleansing Oil before and it has good reviews on Sephora so I decided to give it a shot! And I was totally not let down.
It gets rid of all my makeup effortlessly, even my mascara! No racoon eyes here. It also has a gel-like consistency which makes it feel really moisturizing.
And that’s it for my November Favorites! Have you tried any of these products? If you have, be sure to let me know what you think of them down in the comments!
Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! You'll be happy you did when you get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back.) Sephora, Ulta, and many more makeup stores participate in Ebates. I’ve made over $500 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! I wrote a review on Ebates when I first started using it here.
