Hi, friends! I can barely believe that a month of 2019 has already gone by… but, here we are! It’s February!
Another month gone by means another Monthly Favorites post!
I actually didn’t purchase any new makeup in January. (Aren’t you proud of me?) Honestly, my bank account is still recovering from the holidays LOL.
However, I bought a lot of makeup during the holiday season (because sales!), so I still had a bunch of stuff to try out!
There is a wide variety of products in today’s post – from high-end makeup to drugstore makeup – which really shows that it doesn’t matter how much a product costs for it to be amazing!
If you missed my Year-End 2018 Favorites posts, be sure to check them out! There were so many great products in 2018!
So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Givenchy – Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm in Perfect Pink
We’re starting the list off with a totally overpriced ($37) and probably unnecessary product, but I’ll be honest, I LOVE IT. And I’d definitely repurchase it again.
This product really is just a lip balm. But, not like Chapstick kind of lip balm. It’s a really fancy lip balm LOL.
Givenchy claims that the Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm is a 3-in-1 plumping, moisturizing, and color-boosting balm. And I totally agree with all three claims.
My lips definitely look juicier when I’m wearing this lip balm and it is really moisturizing. It has a really balmy texture – very similar to Chapstick and the like – so it does a really good job in keeping your lips moisturized.
And regarding the claim of color-boosting – YES GIRL. With this balm on, it doesn’t look like I’m wearing lipstick or anything that pigmented, it just makes your natural lip color better.
Bonus points for the super luxe packaging. Real talk, it’s pink genuine leather. *shook face* This is probably partially why it’s so expensive. BUT IT’S SO PRETTY.
Iconic London – Illuminator in Original
Iconic London has got to be one of the most Instagram famous beauty brands out there.
Do you remember seeing those pretty Instagram makeup models dropping this on their face in every single tutorial they did?!
That’s totally where I first learned about the brand. And I may be wrong about this, but I believe they started the liquid highlighter thing. Or at least really popularized it.
ANYWAY. YES, this totally lives up to the hype.
I apply it all over my face before foundation and I also mix it into my foundation. What can I say, I like to glow!
Of all the liquid highlighters I’ve tried so far, I definitely get the most glow with this one. The pigment is actually insane with this highlighter.
If you apply it to your entire face like I do, you’ll totally look like a disco ball before applying your foundation LOL.
The Original shade is almost too dark for me, though. So, if you’re very fair, I would definitely go for the shade Shine. (I’m totally going to buy that one next.)
And if you’re darker than a medium skin tone, the shade Glow would be perfect for you.
The price is a little much for a liquid highlighter, though… At $40, it’s definitely overpriced.
If you’re looking for a dupe, the Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighters are phenomenal.
Iconic London – Prep Set Glow in Original
Of course, I also had to get the famous spray from Iconic London!
I’m actually really happy that Ulta now carries the brand because if I remember correctly, Iconic London isn’t in any other major retailers and you used to have to order from their online store.
So, about this setting spray – If you want to really GLOW, this is the spray.
It is by far, the most illuminating setting spray I have ever tried. You can even see how much reflective particles are in the bottle, since the bottle is clear.
When I use this spray, I don’t use a whole lot – maybe just 2-3 sprays because a little does go a long way! If you use too much, you can end up looking very dewy and glittery. (But hey, if you like that, you do you!)
I just love how this spray gives an extra glow to my entire face! It does make me look like I’m sparkling, especially in the sun, and I love that!
ColourPop – Super Shock Shadows in Falling Up, Roy G. Biv, and IRL
If you have read any other of my Monthly Favorites posts, you know how much I love the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows!
I use it as my lid shade almost every day. There is no other formula that is so easy to apply and that gives you so much pigment in one swipe!
My newest favorite shades are new releases: Falling Up, Roy G. Biv, and IRL (in photo L-R).
Aren’t those swatches beautiful?!
Falling Up and Roy G. Biv are shades that I was always drawn to. They are just perfect lid shades!
I’ve been experimenting with color a little more and have been doing blue/green looks recently. Even though it’s tough to tell from the photo, IRL is a green/gold duochrome shade, which makes it the perfect lid shade for those looks!
Essence – Matt Touch Blush in Berry Me Up
I can hardly believe that this blush is only $3.99! It has such amazing quality, it’s totally ridiculous that it’s that cheap!
This blush is a super natural berry shade that is wearable every day. There’s a lot of pigment, but it’s very easy to blend out with out patchiness!
If you like the popular Satin Touch Blush from Essence, this one is just like that, but matte!
Essence – Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara
GIRL this mascara is something else! It costs less than $5, but it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used.
It does an amazing job with lengthening and thickening lashes – to create a false lash effect!
The tapered brush also makes it easy to apply mascara to the bottom lashes and the hard-to-reach outer corners for those with hooded lids. (I always use the tip of a mascara brush to coat my outermost lashes, so this brush is perfect.)
It’s a fairly wet formula, so you have to be careful of blinking or opening your eyes too wide when it’s still wet.
Anyone else always end up with black spots on their lids from the tips of your eyelashes touching your eyelids? That might be a hooded-lid person problem LOL.
Ulta Beauty – Get Glowing Highlighting Palette
I went back and forth about including this palette in this post because it’s no longer available on the Ulta website. But, I thought you may be able to still find it in-store, so I decided to include it.
This was my first Ulta Beauty product – I’m always hesitant to try stuff made by stores! (I still have yet to try anything from Sephora Collection.)
However, I totally was not disappointed with this palette! It definitely exceeded my expectations.
I have yet to try the cream shades because I’m not really a cream highlighter person, but the pressed powder shades are great!
The left two shades have glitter in them. So, if you don’t like glittery highlighters, this isn’t for you. BUT, I love glitter.
They’re so much brighter than I expected! I would definitely put them in the blinding category. While those two shades are beautiful, they unfortunately don’t suit my skin tone for a highlighter.
The left shade is too dark and the middle shade is too icy.
But, guess what? They make awesome eyeshadows and inner-corner highlight.
The right shade does not have glitter in it and it’s a totally different formula. While the other two are glittery and kind of chunky, the right shade is a much finer milled powder that goes on softer.
It’s a subtler highlighter than the rest, but still very beautiful.
And that’s it for my January Favorites! The first Monthly Favorites post of the New Year!
