Hi, friends! I’m late again with this monthly favorites post, but better late than never! It’s about two weeks until Thanksgiving, so the countdown to food begins! My favorite Thanksgiving food is definitely stuffing, followed closely by pumpkin pie. Is it weird that my favorite isn’t turkey? What’s your favorite food to eat on Thanksgiving?
Another thing to look forward to in November is Black Friday and Cyber Monday! How many of you actually do Christmas shopping on these days? I know I end up almost always only buying things for myself LOL. Oh! Unrelated to Black Friday, (but kinda related because it’s a sale…) don’t forget that Sephora’s semi-annual VIB Sale runs from 11/10-11/15! It’s 20% off everything, so don’t miss out! I already have my shopping cart filled and ready to go teehee.
Without me rambling any further, let’s talk about today’s actual post! In the month of October, I surprisingly tried out quite a bit of new products. I didn’t do any giant hauls last month, but picking up a few things at a time from different stores really added up! All of the products I am going to share with you today have worked extremely well for me and I’m am sooo happy with them that it makes me wonder how I lived without them!
Let's get started!
I finally found a good loose setting powder from the drugstore! This is a fairly new product from Maybelline and I absolutely love it! My holy grail setting powder is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Settting Powder, but guys, I swear this one is just as good, or very close. AND it's less than a quarter of the price. WIN.
These powders do come in shades, so it's not translucent like the Laura Mercier powder. I bought the two lightest shades, 05 fair and 10 fair light, and my skin tone is like right in the middle of the two. I use the lightest shade to set my entire face and while it does leave me looking a tad bit like a ghost, after I finish doing bronzer, contour, blush, and highlight, it's the perfect shade. With that being said, those fairer than myself may not be able to use this product.
As for the texture, it is seriously SO impressive for the price. It's really soft, fluffy, and super finely milled. When I pour it out of the container, it looks exactly like the Laura Mercier powder. I'd definitely say this is a good dupe! Just make sure to get the correct shade. In terms of longevity, it is amazing! I've been wearing this everyday for a few weeks, and throughout my day, my foundation doesn't break up at all and I rarely need to touch up any oil. Your makeup is there to stay!

I've been on a long search for a drugstore alternative for my favorite concealer, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and I think I finally found it! You typically don't hear a lot about this concealer when it comes to drugstore products - I know I always hear people raving about the Fit Me! concealer and the Instant Age Rewind concealer. The Fit Me! concealer totally failed me (I know, unpopular opinion, right?), so I was hesitant to try other Maybelline concealers. The Fit Me! concealer didn't work out for me because it made my skin literally feel like it was on fire, so I was skeptical of the formula of Maybelline concealers as a whole. BUT, this concealer totally changed my mind!
The consistency is smooth and creamy, and while it isn't super thick, it gives a good amount of coverage and blends out like a dream. Since I mentioned replacing my NARS concealer earlier, I do have to say that this concealer isn't as good in terms of coverage, but it definitely is good enough for everyday wear. And it doesn't crease on me! I do bake my under-eye area every day (yes, I know, extra AF), so that may have something to do with it, but I have tried other concealers that crease on my when I do the same routine, so this is a winner.
The shade range is terrible, though. On the Maybelline website, there are only 6 shades available. I bought the lightest shade, Ivory, and I honestly think I could use an even lighter shade to highlight and really brighten up my face.

This highlighter has been hyped up so much that people are saying it's the best drugstore highlighter around, so naturally, I had to try it! I was a bit bummed out that this is the only shade it comes in (Molten Gold), because when just looking at the pan, I thought it may be too dark for my skin tone. I normally like a pinkish champagne colored highlight, but I was proven wrong once again! This highlighter is absolutely stunning! I think because I'm pretty fair, this shade doesn't show up that blinding on me, but gives me more of a sun-kissed glow, which I can vibe with!
The application is effortless, as it goes on evenly and doesn't leave any weird patches. It's a really soft and creamy highlighter, and it doesn't have any big chunks of glitter in it, which I love - it leaves a nice sheen instead of glitter everywhere. Very good for an everyday highlighter!
By the way, I apologize for totally gouging the highlighter with my nail! :( I just about died when I did that.

I couldn't write my favorites post without including this baby! Hands down, this is one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes everrrrr. I absolutely love it! The quality of the shadows are top-notch and the range of colors make the palette so versatile. Read my full review of the palette here. :)
And that's it for my October favorites! Let me know if you've tried any of these products - I'd love to hear what you think of them! Happy early Thanksgiving to all of you and thank you for reading!
Until next time. <3
