July Favorites

Hi, friends! Another month gone means another favorites post! I've had a really busy month filled with sight seeing and discovering parts of Maui that I've never seen before. Having Justin here means adventuring and good food! I've been neglecting the blog a bit and I haven't been playing around with makeup much, but I still managed to put a small favorites list together to share with all of you. Hope you enjoy. <3

Urban Decay - Naked Heat Palette

This palette is the newest addition to my eyeshadow palette collection and it has been my absolute go-to palette in the last month. I love all of the warm shades in the palette and they are so versatile - I can create so many different looks with this palette! The warm tone of the palette also makes it very wearable, so it's suitable for doing everyday looks. Although I've been using every single shade of the palette, my favorites definitely are the shimmer shades - they are super pigmented and just beautiful when packed onto the lid.

Take a peek at swatches of the palette here and a makeup look I did using the palette here.

Kylie Cosmetics - The Wet Set

This highlight palette has changed my life! I have never tried anything like it before - the texture is so different than any other highlighter I have. Even though it's described as a pressed powder palette, it does not feel like powder at all - it really feels wet! I've found the best way to apply it is with my fingers or a really dense brush. It doesn't apply well with a fan brush or any other brush you'd typically use to apply a highlighter with. And, blending is best done with the fingers than with any brush. The pigment of this palette is crazy! A little really does go a long way and it doesn't take much until your glow can be seen from the moon. My favorite shade is Privacy Please (top left), which is a beautiful champagne shade that's suitable for everyday use and can be worn with any eye look.

See my first impressions post for swatches of the palette.

L'Oreal Paris - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

This mascara is SO GOOD. It's definitely worth all the hype that surrounded this mascara when it was first released. Many people have been saying it's the best mascara ever and I can totally see why. The formula is very lightweight and it does an amazing job with lengthening and thickening my lashes. It also lasts all day and doesn't flake off, leaving those annoying black specks under your eye. I haven't touched mascara other than this one in the last month because I love it that much!

Lash Paradise is definitely a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, which you can read about here.

NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer

After trying a variety of drugstore concealers in hopes of replacing this concealer, I found myself going back to this one. I've been using it for almost two years and I haven't found anything in the drugstore category that is as creamy, full-coverage, and blendable as this concealer. (I haven't tried everything, so I could use some recommendations!) Also, the shade Vanilla is perfect as a highlighting concealer and the shade Custard is perfect as a spot concealer for me - more perfect than any of the shades offered in the other concealers I've tried. At $30 a pop, I'm definitely looking for a more cost-effective option!

Some people consider the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer a dupe for this concealer, but I disagree. Read my thoughts on that here.

Kylie Cosmetics - Candy K Lip Kit

LOVESSS ITTT. This has definitely been my favorite lip product in the past month. It was the first lip kit I've purchased and I was not disappointed! Candy K is the perfect color for me. I'm not used to seeing myself in bold lip colors, so it's perfect because it's very close to my actual lip color, just a tad bit darker. The liner looks great alone as well, if you don't feel like wearing the liquid lipstick (I actually do that pretty often).

I know some people have said the formula of the liquid lipstick is really drying and it kind of is, but it doesn't bother me much. It does get a bit goopy and come off where your lips touch, but that's pretty normal. It's easy to touch up if you need to, especially after meals, so it's all good. As a girl that has never spent a lot of time doing my lips, it's definitely not a stress-free product to apply! I get nervous every time I apply it LOL. It doesn't come off easily so I can't make too big of a mistake! I love the shade so much that I've recently purchase the Candy K Gloss!

And that's it for this favorites post! I wish I had more to share with all of you, but fingers crossed for next month! I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products or any recommendations you have for products I should try!

Thank you so much for reading! Until next time. <3
